Clare’s Law

Clare’s Law, also known as the Domestic Violence Disclosure Scheme (DVDS) allows you to find out if your current or ex-partner has any previous history of violence or abuse.

If you’re worried that your current or ex-partner is a risk to you, or perhaps the worry is regarding a loved one’s current or ex-partner, a Clare’s Law application allows you to apply for information regarding a history of abuse.

If police checks show that they have a record of violence or abuse, they can share this information with you.
